Getting Involved in Your Crested Butte Colorado Community

Crested Butte, CO is full or life and community members eager to get involved and make a difference. Although it may seem like a kick back to high school days, joining a club or an organization is often the best way to meet new people if you've just moved to Crested Butte or Gunnison Valley.

To get you started, I compiled a short list of great clubs and organizations held throughout Crested Butte. Some foster good causes, others are culturally enticing and some are just a good time.

Center for the Arts Crested Butte
http://www.crestedbuttearts.org/
Center for the Arts Crested Butte is the premier visual and performing arts venue for Colorado’s Upper East River Valley. They host a variety of indoor and outdoor events, fantastic live music, dance and theater performances, art exhibits, professional speakers and conferences. If you love the performing arts, this is the organization you want to get involved with. The Center offers a variety of volunteer programs to give you the opportunity to be a part of some of Crested Butte's biggest events.

Crested Butte Farmers Market

This is perfect for all you foodies out there. Volunteer for one of the best farmers markets in Colorado! The Crested Butte Farmers market is devoted to sustainable agriculture, locally produced foods, and building community. Fresh fruit, vegetables, baked goods, meats, flowers, arts, crafts, entertainment - it doesn't get any better! If you feel you have something to contribute to the market, or just want to help out so you can be the first to get the free samples, this is the organization for you.

Crested Butte Rotary Club

If you really want to make an impact on your community, the Crested Butte Rotary club is going to be the place for you. They are an extremely active club, heavily involved with the children of Crested Butte. Some of their successful community projects include Pocket Parks and Gardens, Spring Clean-Up, collecting food for the local food bank, and raising $20,000 in college scholarships. They hold weekly breakfast meeting where speakers from the community present on various topics.

Like I said before, this is just a short list. The number of organizations and volunteer opportunities in Crested Butte are endless. Living in such a physically active community, I believe, fosters intelligent, forward-thinking, and social individuals. Residents are always eager to get out, meet people and make a difference. That is just part of the culture here in Crested Butte.

Sounds like the kind of town that you want to be apart of? Then give me a call. Come take a look at Crested Butte Real Estate or Gunnison Valley Real Estate. The homes here are beautiful inside and out. Because it's more than just the homes that make this area a good place to live - it's the community that cares enough to make it a great place to live.
