There is no better place for Mountain Biking than in Crested Butte, Colorado. The terrain, the weather, the trails and the picturesque mountains - the iconic mountain biking experience. That is why it makes perfect sense that Crested Butte is the birthplace of mountain biking.
To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Evolution of Mountain Biking, Crested Butte holds their annual Fat Tire Bike Week, affectionately known as the "Dirty # 30." On June 22nd to the 27th, come watch the Fat Tire 40 Endurance race, Aided Rides, Mountain States Cup Wildflower Rush DH races, the Chainless Race and the 24 Hour Bridges of Butte. What once started as a few friends getting together to hit the trails, has now blown up to one of the mountain biking industry's biggest events.
Best of all, what would a Crested Butte event be without a little live entertainm
ent to enhance the already high energy mood? You must check out the jazz/soul/rock/funk/blues/jazz stylings of Karl Denson, performing on June 26th at 7:30 pm. The celebrated saxman and vocalist has performed first call for musicians such as Lenny Kravitz and Michael Franti, and now, he will be gracing Crested Butte with a FREE concert held right after the Wildflower Rush race wraps up.Owning Crested Butte Real Estate means parking your bike in your back yard, waking up in the morning to the fresh Colorado air, and going for the ride of your life through the Crested Butte mountains - all before you go to work.
